5th Grade Music
Hello to our wonderful music students. We miss you and hope you are doing well. This week in music we’d like you to spend a total of 20 to 30 minutes on a music learning activity.
Mrs. Boggess’ page: https://emerson.slcschools.org/users/christinaboggess
I have endeavored to create a plethora of student choice activities that would cater to your age and interests. They are linked on my staff page. Over 300 links are organized to help you navigate a number of different elements of music, music history and practicing music skills (playing, reading, singing, etc). If you want to focus on creating and exploring, choose a part of the music lab via chrome https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/. If you choose this option, be sure to share the link (to your personal creation) back with me via email or in teams.

Please try the note reading games at [http://h%20ttps//www.purposegames.com/playlist/violin-note-reading]h ttps://www.purposegames.com/playlist/violin-note-reading It’s also on my Backman teacher page. Choose an easy game and play it until you can get 100% every time. If you have an instrument, practice it using the Audio recordings of pieces from the Wendell Hurst String Method, also on my page. Only 20 – 30 minutes total, for the week is expected in music. If you like, you may do activities from the other music teachers’ pages.
Mr. Asman’s page: https://emerson.slcschools.org/users/davidasman
I’ve been uploading music-related links since late March, including entertaining and educational videos for your viewing pleasure. There are also specific lessons for band. If you haven’t had a chance to experience them yet, I suggest starting with the following instructional video for band students: https://beginningband101.com/instructional-videos/ Once you’ve watched that video, you’ll be ready to follow our band piece, Hot Cross Buns (uploaded to my page on April 6th).
Our email addresses are on our teacher pages. PLEASE send us an email if you have any questions or suggestions. If there’s a song we’ve done in class that you’d like us to put on our page, tell us. If you need help with anything in music, just ask. If you just want to say “Hi”, email us. Stay safe and happy.
